Job Description
  • Provide chemical engineering expertise as required to define new, and drive improvements to existing manufacturing processes for products, as defined by or agreed with a group or project leader.
  • Participate in or provide resources to task force/manufacturing support teams or capital projects either as the owner of the chemical process or to provide specific engineering expertise, possibly operating across more than one site.
  • Support the Process Technology input into significant multi-disciplinary projects, including SET projects, possibly leading small multidisciplinary projects. Ensures the required HSE standards and good laboratory practices are applied/respected.
  • Oversees and defines the experimental program to deliver safe and sustainable chemical processes that are fit for the current product lifecycle stage under the guidance of the project lead.
  • Controls and coordinates the provision of technical support to a significant technology or manufacturing area.
  • Acts as a local expert in a specific technology. Applies a combination of theoretical and applied knowledge to guide and lead challenges in that area. Investigate, develop, and implement solutions to the more intractable problems encountered.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. with 3y experience or M.Sc. in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent English. German and French advantageous.
  • Typically, 1 -3 years' experience as Process Engineering Specialist, or equivalent, with practical experience in manufacturing support, process improvement, and development, showing basic knowledge in process safety, reaction hazards, electrostatics, and environmental issues.
  • Some experience in manufacturing support, process improvements, and knowledge in scale-up of chemical processes.
  • Track record in working within project timelines in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Syngenta stage plan, Supply Chain strategy, R&D and P&S processes, teams, roles, and responsibilities. (or equivalent experience with another company)
