POSITION TITLE: Manager, Engineering Operations
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a Manager of Engineering Operations to manage field technicians, engineers, and subcontractors within the engineering department. This position will create tools, processes, and software development for the entire OSP engineering department. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in engineering operations, be safety focused, customer and quality centric, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leader with the ability to make challenging business decisions, gain a people following, participate in and drive the company culture, hold others accountable, and manage the outcomes of results
  • Responsible for the P&L of at least one engineering market
  • Responsible for the supervision and development of internal team members; includes hiring, terminating, time management, schedule allocations, performance management, production standards, career advancement planning, etc.
  • Oversees the management of external sub-contractors; includes on-boarding, terminating, performance management, production standards, contract negotiations, etc.
  • Participates and presents in strategic planning meetings, manages a group scorecard, ensures goals are met by following the I404 action planning process and having complete buy-in to the ADB Way
  • Responsible for ensuring training, production, and operations standards are set for all team members and subcontractors and that the market drives for continuous improvement of the team's efficiency, speed, and quality
  • Collaborates with other market leaders to develop and implement solutions based on company standards and processes which establish consistency across all markets, reduces risk, and promotes efficiencies in support of the organization's goals and objectives
  • Oversee team member access to ADB and Customer systems such as the GIS Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, AGOL (mapping), 3GIS, and Mobile Devices
  • Responsible for the development of market growth strategies to include but not limited to: Financial, People, Cultural, Geographic, and Safety Growth
  • Responsible for the integrity of all engineering data in Market
  • Collaborate on the creation of design specifications, unit testing, and technical documentation with Architect or SME level resources
  • Responsible for the culture and team unity of the engineering group within the market
  • Ensure the financial health of the department, forecasting, JCR reviews, and overall financial results of the department
  • Ensure customer retention and development to drive the growth of opportunities for the department with a strong passion of being customer centric
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership

  • Proficient knowledge of CAD/Spatial applications such as GIS, 3GIS, AutoCAD, Google Earth, etc. required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Corporate headquarters is located at 18777 US Hwy 66 Pacific MO 63069
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, projectors, copy/fax, and smartphones

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • 5+ Years in a Leadership Role required; for an OSP Engineering department preferred
  • 2+ Years Engineering experience in OSP telecommunications required
  • 2+ Years Engineering Software Development Experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with ObjectARX .NET framework development, file structures CSV, XLS, PDF, GDB, enterprise relational databases including SQL Server, PostgreSQL is preferred but not required
  • Experience with languages including VBA, C#, Python, SQL and ASP.net, JavaScript API, HTML for GIS automation and applications is preferred but not required
  • Engineering Bachelors Degree preferred but not required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

This position offers an annual salary of up to $120,000.00 based on experience.
