POSITION PURPOSE

Inspects products periodically throughout the plant to ensure quality is within specifications

DUTIES AND WORKING PROCEDURES

* Checks orders and spec sheets for agreement and compares to a prepared label
* Ensures that all special instructions on speck sheets are known and adhered to
* Routinely inspect all products in various stages of manufacture, both visually and dimensionally by use of
gauges, blocks, solutions, etc. Complete all reports and documentation
* Audit as required raw, in-process and finished goods then document
* Perform equipment set up evaluations
* Inform management immediately of non-standard condition then document
* Retain samples for management to review
* Verify product produced prior to and after the detection of a non-standard condition; resample defective product
* HFI any non-standard product to prevent its being forwarded to the next department or shipped to customer
* Perform retort testing as necessary
* Keep assigned work area neat, clean and orderly
* Relieve as required
* Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor
* Handle hazardous waste according to proper procedures as outlined in the Hazardous Waste Management
* Bulletins including identification, collection, segregation, handling and storage of waste
* Follow all Plant food safety procedures
