Production Quality Inspector

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections of incoming shipments, in process work, and completed products before they are boxed and shipped in various production areas, and providing training to production associates as needed to ensure they understand the quality requirements of the products they are producing. This role ensures adherence to quality standards and addresses any initial quality issues identified during the inspection process.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing facility/environment, prior experience in a leadership role within a production or manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with quality control procedures and practices is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of assembly processes, equipment, and quality control procedures, with the ability to learn and maintain quality requirements for multiple areas of manufacturing.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coach, motivate, and build relationships with team members.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and prepared for all shifts, meetings, and appointments.
  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND BEHAVIORS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Inspect incoming shipments being received, in process work, and conduct final checks of completed products for quality according to established checklists and procedures.
  • Identify and report any quality issues to the team lead promptly.
  • Verify that any identified issues are addressed and corrected before products are boxed and shipped.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results and communicate findings effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Implement strategies to motivate and engage the team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  • Champion processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing streamlined workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform the following physical activities:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, squat, or bend and use hands and arms to push, pull, reach or grasp 8-10 hours per day.
  • Able to lift, carry, raise and/or lower up to 50 lb. objects from one level to another.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and operating machinery.
  • Visual acuity for inspecting products and reading written instructions or labels.
  • Regular use of PC, laptop, copier, fax, and other general office equipment.
  • Ability to access all areas of the facility to perform essentials functions of the position.

Work Environment:

The Production Quality Inspector typically works in a manufacturing or production facility. The working environment may involve exposure to moderate noises, moving machinery, and various production materials. The role may require standing for extended periods and lifting or moving objects weighing up to a certain weight limit.
