Air Products Membrane Solutions has developed a forward business plan that includes significant growth commitments in Sales Revenue which requires bringing new products to the marketplace. Membrane Solutions has a long history of commercializing new technologies that reliably meet and exceed customers' needs.

We are seeking a Product Development Technician to support new membrane and product development team in St Louis, MO

The Product Development Technician works closely with the entire Development organization to execute development projects through laboratory experimentation, testing, scaleup, and translation to manufacturing.

This position will work closely with experienced Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, and Operations personnel to support the growth of Air Products Membrane Solutions through new membrane and product development and existing product enhancements to serve new and existing markets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform work safely and contribute to Air Products' first-class safety culture

  • Conduct laboratory and Pilot Plant hollow fiber membrane spinning

  • Execute experimental plans under the direction of various project leaders to support gas separation, membrane development, product scaleup, and translation to production

  • Accurate recording and analysis of test data,maintenance of laboratory notebooks

  • Operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and/or modify laboratory equipment

  • Able to analyze equipment/processes for potential technical and/or safety issues

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a science preferred

  • 0-3 years' experience working in a chemicalor laboratory environment, preferably working with polymers

  • Excellent communication skills, team player, technical orientated and able to work with minimum supervision

  • Ability to support multiple projects at a time

  • Mechanical/electrical aptitude and hands-on skills which facilitatesconstruction, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of experimental test systems and laboratory process equipment, including knowledge of safe handling of gases at high pressures

  • Computer skills (Analytical equipment programs, Excel, Power point);

  • Flexible attitude to changing assignments and responsibilities
