The Position

Territory: This position is part of the Midwest Region and will provide primary support for Springfield, MO.

Location: This is a remote, field based position. Preference for the person selected for this role to reside in the Springfield, MO area. Will give consideration to those living in the territory.

Travel Requirements: This position has up to 50% travel requirements. Some overnight, weekend, holiday and on-call working hours are required.

The Opportunity

The Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers. As a Field Engineering Specialist:

  • You will travel to customer sites and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines.

  • You will offer valuable service to laboratory customers in your assigned territory.

  • You will provide routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products.

  • You will serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues and perform preventative maintenance.

  • You will diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures.

  • You will document all activities, contribute to quality improvement, and focus on maximizing customer satisfaction.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience
  • 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking is necessary, OR a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field, plus 1-2 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical, or system hardware and software, or networking, or wireless networking.

  • Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.

  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel, is a requirement for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience

  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and information technology

  • Ability to serve as an internal technical resource that can train and mentor other FES in the region.

  • Provide support after hours and on weekends and holidays as required

  • Possess strong customer service skills to ensure positive customer relationships
