About the Role

In the role of Designer I, you would be located at our Hannibal Manufacturing Center of Excellence.

As a Designer I, you will focus on Mechanical Layout (3D), product documentation, shop floor support and component research. You will manage your own activities and take accountability for completing routine tasks that are part of an overall product design process. As part of the Hannibal engineering team, you will be a team member who is relied on to have a good understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity and timing. You will contribute to the team's success by sharing your previously acquired knowledge.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Create part and assembly drawings for new and existing products
  • Create and edit BOM for new and existing products
  • Prepare CAD drawings for new parts and assemblies based on the instructions of others
  • Component design, research and verification of form, fit and function
  • Implement engineering changes including layout revisions, BOM updates, and drawing/design updates
  • Process rework or prototype orders for standard/modified standard product
  • Read and interpret customer drawings
  • Perform inspections or other evaluations of products and processes based on defined procedures and standards and verify/validate procedures and standards for these activities
  • Assist in manufacturability of new products
  • Manage own time, professional development, prioritize workflows and be accountable for own results.

Required Qualifications

  • Two-year degree or high-school graduate and related experience (3-5 years)
  • Basic CAD knowledge using Solid Works Mechanical Software
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Microsoft window operating system
  • Understanding of basic electrical formulas
  • Database awareness, PLM, MAC PAC.
