Electrical Engineer Essential Functions*:

  • Design electrical control systems for new and existing industrial automation equipment - 480 and below.
  • Design and evaluate alternative components and/or automation strategies for new and existing equipment to improve efficiency, product quality and/or performance, and reduce cost.
  • Perform programming (create new and modify existing) of control devices including Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servos, and Vision Cameras.
  • Work with drafting to create and maintain all necessary electrical documentation.
  • Create detailed project cost estimates.
  • Develop, manage, and support capital projects.
  • Create electrical specifications for new equipment.
  • To ensure new equipment conforms to specifications work closely with vendors throughout quotation, design, and build.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in planning and design activities through the Integrated Product Team (IPT).
  • Special projects as necessary.

Electrical Engineer Position Requirement*:

  • Bachelor of Science** in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years' recent related experience designing electrical control systems for industrial automation equipment.
  • Minimum of three years' recent related experience programming PLCs preferred.
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment preferred.
  • Related experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Programming experience with Allen Bradley PLCs preferred.
  • Experience in programming and implementing AC/DC motor drives, HMIs, Servos, Machine Vision, and industrial component networking preferred.
  • Experience in design of heavy industrial plants and/or DoD locations preferred.
  • Knowledge of ANSI B11 standards for presses preferred. AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication (oral and written), and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with DoD requirements - UFCs, Army Regs, DoD Safety Manuals, etc. preferred.
  • Individual must be creative, self-motivated, and an independent thinker.
  • Candidate must possess prior project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
