Job Description
Position Title: Metal Roller

Wage: $26-$30/hour DOE

Shift: 1st

Hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, hours may vary depending on projects including mandatory overtime and weekends/holidays

Metal Roller Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate machinery and equipment to shape and form steel into various products, such as sheets, plates, bars, or rods
- Set up, adjust, and operate rolling mills or other metalworking machines to produce steel products according to specifications and quality standards
- Machine Operation: Operate rolling mills or other metalworking machinery to roll steel into specific shapes and dimensions, such as sheets, plates, bars, or rods
- Setup and Adjustment: Set up and adjust rolling mill equipment, including rollers, guides, and controls, to achieve desired product dimensions and quality standards
- Material Handling: Load steel materials onto the rolling mill and unload finished products, ensuring proper handling and positioning to maintain safety and prevent damage
- Quality Control: Monitor the rolling process to ensure that finished products meet specified tolerances, surface finish, and quality requirements
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on rolling mill equipment, such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime
- Safety Compliance: Always adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or operational issues during the rolling process, taking appropriate corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
- Documentations: Maintain accurate production records, including material usage, production rates, and quality control data, to track performance and ensure compliance with production schedules and quality standards
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the production team, including machine operators, technicians, and supervisors, to achieve production goals and resolve issues effectively

Metal Roller Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education; vocational training or certification in metalworking or a related field preferred
- Proven experience operating rolling mills or similar metalworking machinery in a steel manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
- Knowledge of metal properties, rolling processes, and quality control standards related to steel manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Physical stamina and dexterity to lift and move heavy steel materials and work in a fast-paced, industrial environment
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing setting
- Work in a noisy, industrial environment with exposure to heat, dust, and mechanical hazards
- May work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support continuous production operations
