Job Description

Health, Counseling, and Disability Access Services are seeking an experienced and skilled therapist able to work with a diverse clinical population with a wide range of needs, as well as to support our efforts to enhance our services to serve all students.

Duties include:

  • Individual and group counseling/therapy; crisis intervention; consultation; and supervision of clinical graduate interns.
  • Outreach Coordinator duties will include coordination of training and education to the campus community on mental health issues and topics: suicide prevention, substance abuse awareness, eating disorder awareness, interpersonal violence prevention, and sexual assault prevention.
  • There is also an emphasis on connecting with students on campus to promote Counseling Services as a relevant and beneficial resource to all students.
  • We are seeking a professional who is committed to the work of university counseling centers and who wishes to join a dynamic staff seeking ways to better meet the mental health needs of the campus population.
  • Cultural competence is of utmost importance. The successful candidate will value a multifaceted approach involving strongly linked clinical and training efforts, consultation with the campus, mental health prevention/early intervention, multicultural values/awareness, and collaborative campus connections.
  • We seek individuals who are collaborative in nature, have strong communication skills, practice good self-care, maintain healthy boundaries, and possess the ability to manage the workload while promoting a positive atmosphere and healthy relationships.

Shift

Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work and relevant licensure (or eligible to be licensed within 12 months) within the State of Missouri.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work is necessary. Current licensure as a mental health professional in the State of Missouri (LP, LPC, LCSW, LMFT), or licensed in another state and able to gain Missouri licensure within 6 months of hire
  • University counseling center experience is highly desirable. Desirable skills include interest and experience in developing and delivering outreach and psychoeducation programs, utilizing a brief therapy model, crisis intervention, hospitalization experience, and work with more complex cases.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $60,000-$61,800 Annual
Grade: GGS-10
