As a Community Support Specialist, you'll work with clients in various capacities, providing mentorship, guidance, and hope to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. You'll have the chance to work in different settings, including clients' homes, clinics, and other community locations, ensuring that each individual receives personalized support tailored to their unique needs. • Address multiple facets, i.e., employment, housing, relationships, et al.
• Securing continuity in care, handling missed appointments and crises.
  

Knowledge Sharing & Education:

• Insights on mental health conditions, substances use, symptom awareness, etc.
• Medication adherence, wellness planning, coping mechanisms, and building social abilities.
  

Preventing Relapse & Enabling Independence:

• Spotting risks and crafting robust plans against potential relapses.
• Fostering accessible services connecting clients to vital programs.
  

Crisis Response & Thorough Documentation:

• Swift action during mental health emergencies utilizing wisdom and discernment.
• Detailed records capturing essential details and tracking follow-ups.
  

Engaging Staff Contribution:

• Join forces in team meetings, trainings, and workshops enhancing proficiency.
• Fulfilling case load management partnering with supervisors.
  

Community-Based Solutions & Behavioral Techniques:

• Extending quality, empathetic services beyond clinical boundaries.
• Using efficient methodologies such as motivational interviewing, shaping, and cognitive processes.

Education and/or experience qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields of study: Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Counseling, Recreational Therapy, Human Services, Human Development, Child Development, Gerontology, Behavioral Science, Rehabilitation Counseling, Education (Teachers!)

• Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree from an approved institution
  OR....

• Work experience in a related human services field may substitute for educational requirements. *Related fields may include direct support such as case management, residential support, developmentally disabled support, vocational rehabilitation, and more. Four years of qualifying experience minimum or a combination of education and experience equaling four years required.

• Qualified Addictions Professional (QAP) CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, CCJP, RADC-P, RADC, CCDP, CCDP-D
