All About You

JOB SUMMARY

Under the leadership of the Shared Business Services Director, independently designs and prepares revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations; creates and analyzes data, prepares periodic, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately; identifies trends and developments; compiles and prepares analytical information to assess the financial performance of division; evaluates, monitors and forecasts business, personnel, labor and general expense and operational needs of several varied business/cost centers. Develops and establishes dashboards for each cost center, providing metrics, standardization, and benchmarking of processes; prepares routine and ad-hoc financial, human resources, and capital reports/analyses; and monitors financial activity. Supervises and leads professional and student employees, as assigned. Serves as the business coordinator for departments in the division.

Job Responsibilities

Perform ongoing analysis and evaluation of the division's revenues, personnel, and operating budgets and expenses; monitor, analyze, and forecast personnel, operational, and capital expenses by reviewing Workday hiring and procurement-related transactions; make recommendations for process, system, administrative, and/or managerial improvements. Works with the senior leadership team to implement approved changes, projects, and/or activities and programs.

Review department programs, transactions, and services to assess the performance of the division; develop, coordinate, and enhance current reports, accurate routine and ad-hoc financial reports and analyses. Generate, analyze, compile, and review various financial, business, and personnel reports and transactions, perform fee schedule analyses, and perform revenue and operational expense projections for the division.

Leads the work of financial coordinators, administrative personnel, hiring managers, and student workers to ensure the timely completion of reports, analyses, projections, and activities. Participate in planning, strategic management, and project management responsibilities for the division. Assists in developing, analyzing, and preparing division annual budgets and yearly merit allocations.

Works with division administrative, leadership, and internal and external collaborators such as Human Resources and Business and Finance to employ solutions that will reduce redundancies, inefficiencies, and manual transactions; improve accuracy and efficiency, cooperation, and customer engagement and satisfaction.

Monitor and maintain internal controls, and policy compliance, and provide support and cost/risk/benefit evaluation and analyses, for potential developments, new program proposals, processes, or operations, and upon approval, assist with implementation.

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Knowledge of university business policies, practices, and procedures and ability to apply knowledge in complex, difficult, and/or unprecedented situations.

Advanced Microsoft 365 experience, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting.

Understanding of business processes and ability to identify risks and use data to assist with accurate financial statements and reports.

Understanding of business expense accounts including personnel, operations, capital expenses, and revenue projections for division departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or accounting.

Three to five years of related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

Master's degree.
