Job Description

Substitute Teacher


ESS is the largest substitute support staffing company within the US for K-12 Education. In Missouri we are contracted with multiple districts and our teams are busy! You are paid bi-weekly (every other Friday by direct deposit or pay card). You create the schedule that works for you, by building your schedule online in our willSub system and you select the jobs you want to work. You can set your preferences by elementary/middle/High school. We have an app available with push notifications. We offer phone calls as well as we have an online 24hr a day job board that you can select work from. As an ESS employee you are offered benefits and 401K options.

Responsibilities of a substitute teacher and paraprofessional

  • assists with classroom instruction by following lesson plans left by the regular teacher
  • aid students in understanding the assignment and subject matter
  • follow regular classroom assignments
  • engage students and always maintain classroom management

Qualifications

  • Content Certificate (https://dese.mo.gov/edugecator-quality/certification/substitute-teachers)
  • 36 college credits or completion of the MO Frontline 20hr course
  • MACHS/FBI Criminal History Clearance- fingerprint code is in your application with us
  • FCSR Registry- ( https://healthapps.dhss.mo.gov/BSEES)

ESS has a reimbursement program in place to assist with the some of the credentialing costs once hired. Ask us about that process.
