Job Description

ESS is the largest substitute support staffing company within the US for K-12 Education. In Missouri we are contracted with multiple districts and our teams are busy! You are paid bi-weekly (every other Friday by direct deposit or pay card). You create the schedule that works for you, by building your schedule online in our willSub system and you select the jobs you want to work. You can set your preferences by elementary/middle/High school. We have an app available with push notifications. We offer phone calls as well as we have an online 24hr a day job board that you can select work from. As an ESS employee you are offered benefits and 401K options.

Our contract with the Lincoln County RIII district has 5 days of work available each week. If you have a second job and are not available all 5 days, you can schedule to substitute for us when you are off work or available. If your job is based off weather, we can fill in those days for you! These are scheduled school hours and you can take your child to work with you if you work at their school or even utilize their emergency drop off program through Latch Key as a substitute and only pay for the days you use. Responsibilities of a Substitute Paraprofessional

Substitute paraprofessionals are also known as school aides, teacher assistants, instructional aides, one-to-one aides, and personal care assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with extra care and support of individual students or small groups of students
  • Assists the teacher with of the class
  • Supervise students in the cafeteria, recess, specials, hallways, on field trips, etc.
  • Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
  • Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plan

Qualifications

  • MACHS/FBI Criminal History Clearance- Do not schedule this until you have the LCRIII school district code
  • FCSR Registry- (https://healthapps.dhss.mo.gov/BSEES)
  • *Optional*Content Certificate (https://dese.mo.gov/educator-quality/certification/substitute-teachers)

We have an amazing Kickstart Reward Program to help you recoup some of the credentialing costs once you are hired.

Who you report to:

  • You will report to your ESS account manager Karl Pavia. He is a very easy person to talk to and wants to see you succeed in your role. He is a great coach/mentor and trainer. He specializes in credentialing and on boarding candidates.
  • You will also have a regional manager locally that can assist with any additional needs. Samantha Moore has worked for ESS for over 3 years with ESS. She is energetic, outgoing and excited to help you become a part of her team.

District Selection:

We are currently hiring to staff Lincoln County RIII. This district has an incentivized pay structure. The more jobs you work, the more money you can make per day. (The district sets the pay rates, not ESS.)

Substitute Paraprofessional Pay


  • Without a substitute certificate $13.55 an hour
  • With a substitute certificate $14.20 an hour
  • Long Term without substitute certificate (same staff member) $14.20 an hour
  • Long Term with substitute certificate (same staff member) $15.20 an hour


How quickly can I begin work?

As soon as you finish your application and have completed your background check with the district and registered for the FCSR (family care safety) we can guesstimate a better start date. We have seen a 48hr turn around, for someone who has everything they need on file and ready to upload. Others have taken anywhere from 2-3 weeks. You do not have to give notice to your employer until you have been offered employment and hired by ESS since you are in control of your schedule.

Currently we are contracted with Lincoln County R3, Bowling Green R1, Hannibal District #60, Ralls County RII, Monroe City R1, Belton 124, Monett R1, & Hollister RV.
