UH Behavioral Health is the KC metro area's largest, most comprehensive provider of mental health services. We also offer psychiatric inpatient care, and we deliver therapeutic services through our community outreach clinics. Summary:
This position is highly technical work, physically demanding and requires direct patient care. The responsibilities include adult/child prophy's, educating patients on oral health care, scaling and root planning, applying sealants and administering fluoride.
Minimum requirements
1. Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene school
2. A current, valid dental hygiene license from the State of Missouri (including ability to administer Nitrous Oxide)
3. A thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of dental hygiene practice, including OSHA safety procedures.
4. Working knowledge of record keeping practices and techniques.
5. Strong customer service skills.
6. Prolonged periods of standing, leaning and bending.
7. Ability to develop and implement written and oral instructions.
8. Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationship with physicians, dentists, administrators and co-workers.
9. Requires maintaining BCLS certification for continued employment.
